Coppers can be found on all sorts of grasslands. The male butterflies are either bright orange, or patterned as the females are, with brown on orange. The males and females of most coppers differ in appearance; the males are quite easy to identify, whereas the females cause confusion, those of different species resembling each other. (L. dispar 01)
