Frejya's Fritillary
Description:
Frejya's Fritillary occurs in damp, peatland habitats.
The female lays her eggs singly on Bog Whortleberry (Vaccinium uliginosum), and possibly also on Cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus), Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi), Alpine Bearberry (A. alpinus), and Crowberry (Empetrum nigrum).
The butterflies can also be seen on drier, grassy vegetation, searching for nectar, visiting Moss Campion (Silene acaulis) frequently.
Frejya's Fritillary is single-brooded.
