Northern Grizzled Skipper
Description:
The Northern Grizzled Skipper prefers damp, moist and wet places. It is mostly found in open areas of bogs or swamps, in scrub near swamps, and above the tree-line on stretches of wet ground with dwarf shrubs. With its inconspicuous colours and rapid flight, the butterflies of this grizzled skipper are difficult to follow.
The female lays her eggs on Cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus). Little is known about the way the caterpillars live.
This species is single-brooded.
