Description:
Zapater's Ringlet is found in clearings in pine forests; these sometimes small clearings have grassy vegetation and shrubs. It usually occurs on limestone. The butterflies often visit thyme for nectar.
Different fescues (Festuca spp.) and meadow-grasses (Poa spp.) are used as food plants.
This butterfly is single-brooded and passes the winter as a caterpillar.
