Description:
The Southern Grayling occurs on open, grassy slopes, on rocky slopes, in scrubby vegetation, and in light woodland.
The caterpillars feed on grasses, including Albardine (Lygeum spartum). They continue feeding on warm winter days. In the spring they pupate in the ground
The Southern Grayling has one brood a year.
