Balkan Clouded Yellow
Description:
The Balkan Clouded Yellow is found above 1700 m on open, rocky slopes with low vegetation. At lower altitudes, the butterflies can be seen in woodland clearings.
The caterpillars feed on the leaves of Hairy Broom (Chamaecytisus hirsutus) and C. eriocarpus. There are often large numbers of larval food plants in the habitats.
It has one generation a year.
