Description:
The Orange-banded Hairstreak occurs above 1000 m on open, dry, calcareous slopes with short vegetation, and in dry scrub.
The eggs are laid on the woody stems of Atraphaxis billardieri, a member of the Polygonaceae.
The caterpillars feed on the leaves of the food plants.
The Orange-banded Hairstreak has one generation a year.
