Description:
Pallas's Fritillary can be easily recognized by the noticeable jagged, white line, running across the underside of the hindwing. It can be found on damp, flower-rich grassland in open, or deciduous forests or mixed woods. Both males and females are fond of sucking nectar from bramble blossom.
The caterpillars live on Marsh Violet (Viola palustris) and Heath Dog Violet (V. canina).
It has one generation a year and passes the winter in the egg stage.
