Alpine Heath
Description:
The Alpine Heath is mostly found on open, sub-alpine and alpine grasslands, and on grasslands with scattered bushes and trees. It can occur in high numbers in some places.
The female lays her eggs, mostly one by one, on grass stalks. The caterpillars hibernate, and pupate at the beginning of the summer, the chrysalis hanging from a plant, usually close to the ground.
It is single-brooded.
