Common Brassy Ringlet

Description:
The Common Brassy Ringlet occurs on dry, grassy slopes, rocky slopes with patches of grassy vegetation, and scree.
The female lays her eggs on dry stalks of grass, close to the ground. Its food plants are various fescues (Festuca spp.).
The caterpillars hibernate in the first or second larval instar and pupate the following year between June and August.
