Description:
The Autumn Ringlet occurs in woodland clearings and on grassy vegetation with scattered bushes.
The caterpillars feed on different grasses, such as Crab-grass (Digitaria sanguinalis), Alpine Meadow-Grass (Poa alpina), Smooth Meadow-grass (Poa pratensis), Annual Meadow-grass (P. annua), Sheep's-fescue (Festuca ovina), and Meadow Fescue (F. pratensis).
This species is single-brooded and hibernates as a caterpillar.
