Cretan Small Heath

Description:
The Cretan Small Heath occurs on grassy vegetation and in open scrub. The butterflies fly quickly and close to the ground. When resting, they always keep their wings closed.
It is uncertain how many broods this species has a year, either one brood with a long flight period, or two or more broods, each with a short flight-period.

Habitat:
Dry calcareous grasslands
Sclerophyllous scrub
