Taygetos Blue
Description:
The Taygetos Blue is found in flower-rich alpine meadows, and sometimes in large, grassy woodland clearings.
The female lays her eggs on the leaves of Astragalus taygetus, a milk-vetch that only occurs in the Taygetos Mountains. At first, the caterpillars feed on the leaves of the host plant, but after hibernation on the flowerbuds.
This butterfly is single-brooded.
