Description:
The Macedonian Chalkhill Blue strongly resembles the typical chalkhill blue (P. coridon). It always occurs on calcareous soils, on flower-rich grasslands near scrub and on grassy patches in scrub.
The caterpillars feed on Horseshoe Vetch (Hippocrepis comosa) and are often found together with ants.
This butterfly has one generation a year and hibernates early in the larval stage.
