Description:
The habitat of the Polar Fritillary is open tundra, with a patchwork of short vegetation. Its food plant is unknown. Just like other butterflies of the far north, the period in which they can be seen varies a lot from year to year, depending on the weather conditions preceding emergence.
It takes two years for the egg to develop into a butterfly.
